Australian Culture, Wine and Wildlife with Airfare

Duration
14 Days
Prices From:
US$ 4,159

FIRST CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: This Australia vacation brings together unique sights, unforgettable wines, and Aussie wildlife to create a Downunder trip you’ll never forget. Combine Australia's sophisticated cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, with a chance along with the natural wonders of Kangaroo Island.

This 14-day air-inclusive trip takes you to three Australian cities that know how to eat, drink and live well. Take in shining Sydney Harbour, lose yourself in the hidden delights of Adelaide, and dive deep into Australia’s cultural capital, Melbourne

Land in Sydney and shake off the jetlag before going back to where it all began on a Rocks Dreaming Tour. An Aboriginal guide shows you how the ancient history of this land connects and continues to shape the people who call it home today. With this understanding of its traditional owners, explore Sydney on a panoramic city sights tour that takes in Sydney Opera House, the Queen Victoria Building, Oxford Street (the centre of LGBTQ+ Sydney), Bondi Beach, and the chic suburbs of the city’s east before disembarking at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for the ultimate Harbour Bridge/Opera House combo view. Then meet your vessel for a 2-course lunch on the harbour, by far the best way to experience Sydney’s defining landmark!

With two days at leisure, you might explore the museums surrounding Hyde Park or Darling Harbour, shop for unique items in Bohemian Newtown, meet the giraffes that have multi-million-dollar harbour views at Taronga Zoo, or embark on a trip into the beautiful Blue Mountains or Hunter Valley wine region. Then it’s on to Adelaide, arguably Australia’s most underrated state capital.

Home to the largest cabaret festival on earth, and Australia’s largest Fringe festival, Adelaide takes its Festival City crown seriously. The abundance of great food and wine is just a bonus, really, but it’s one to get stuck into on a day trip to the Barossa Valley and Hahndorf, South Australia’s oldest German settlement. Humans aren’t the only ones who love South Australia. Kangaroo Island brings together one of the country’s largest concentrations of beloved Australian native species, including its playful seals and fascinating birds of prey. Spend a night here to get the full experience before one final night to swap memories over wine in Adelaide.

Melbourne likes to claim they’re the cultural capital of Australia and… let’s be honest, they’re probably right. Broadway musicals light up the city’s pedestrian-friendly streets. Rooftop bars and intimate restaurants warm the chilly winter nights, and the Yarra snakes its way past roaring crowds of sports fans on its journey under the city skyline to Port Phillip. Grab a flat white (an Aussie latte for busy people) and join your Lanes and Arcades Tour to see the city’s amazing street art and the historic shopping arcades that turned it into… yes, the fashion capital of Australia. Art, fashion, culture, sport, cuisine… this is the city of proverbial capitals, so pick whichever one interests you most.

Waddle down with your expert guide to Phillip Island at the southern tip of Victoria for the world-famous Little Penguin Parade. Each night, hundreds of the feathered flock come in from the sea to make the long journey back up to their burrows. Spend your last full day Downunder in the Yarra Valley, to taste first-hand how Melbourne’s not to be outdone when it comes to wine. You might even want to stay an extra day to discover its incredible galleries and museums before you depart.
