Escape the ordinary with this 14 day deluxe, tailor-made journey through spectacular southern Africa. Wend your way from colourful Cape Town to the breathtaking Victoria Falls. A safari or two on the way makes this a truly once in a lifetime rail adventure. 

After arriving in Cape Town and getting a good night’s rest, aspiring influencers will be thrilled with an Instagram worthy tour of sites such as Table Mountain and Boulders Beach. The afternoon features a wine tasting at Groot Constantia Wine Estate. Finish the day at the glamorous Victoria and Albert Waterfront

Head to Stellenbosch for a private 4X4 wine tour. Sample some of South Africa’s best wines and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you tour the fantastic wineries of the area and learn about the winemaking process. 

A transfer to the airport has you flying across the country to Kruger National Park, one of the largest game reserves in Africa. Here you will spend three nights on a safari adventure that you will never forget. Morning and afternoon game drives seek out the Big 5, birdlife and unique flora in a true bucket-list experience.

From here, it’s back to the sky and arriving in Pretoria for the start of your luxurious journey with Rovos Rail. The Pride of Africa is a classic, wood-panelled train that harkens to times gone by. Enjoy fabulous meals and watch South Africa drop away as you head towards Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls. After a full day on the rails, your first stop is at Hwange National Park for another exciting game drive. Hwange boasts one the largest elephant populations in Africa. 

The next 3 nights are spent at Victoria Falls, called “The Smoke that Thunders”, by locals. These impressive falls will leave any traveler gobsmacked by their intensity. Your time here is totally at leisure. Guests are free to book private tours of the falls, explore the Zambezi, visit the town or go in search of even more wildlife. It’s up to you. 

On your final day, you will transfer to the airport for your onward travels.

Day 2

Cape Town Instagram Experience

You will bee collected from your hotel this morning by your local guide, who will show you where to snap the best Instagram photos of Cape Town's most iconic sights. First stop is Table Mountain, named one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, for a cable car ride to the top of the mountain (weather permitting). Travel via the scenic Chapman's Peak drive (if open) to Cape Point Nature Reserve, for a picture of the famous Cape Point lighthouse dating back to 1859. Visit Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African Penguins and then to Muizenberg Beach, one of the most popular Cape Town beaches, dotted with colorful beach huts along the sand and locally known as surfers paradise. Head to Groot Constantia Wine Estate, for a wine tasting (with souvenir crystal glass included) and wander through the instaworthy vineyards. The final stop is the V and A Waterfront, an instagrammer's paradise. Spend as much time snapping away and enjoying the amazing views of Table Mountain and the ocean before being dropped off at your accommodation.

Day 3

Private 4x4 Winelands Experience

This tour is always a private tour and a very unique way to experience the fantastic Vineyards and sights of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. During the day we will visit 3 to 4 wine estates, depending on your time and pace. With our 4x4 vehicle we will drive off road up into the vineyards to beautiful vantage points over the Franschhoek, Banghoek and Stellenbosch Valleys respectively. Here you will learn about the area, vines in the vineyard and the history of these settlements before going down to the cellars for a tasting. As this is a private tour, you can decide where you would like to have lunch, in the town of Franschhoek or Stellenbosch, or on one of the many wine estates in the region. Join us for an unforgettable experience.

Cape Town to Kruger National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Cape Town airport for your flight (cost of flight not included in the tour price) to Skukuza Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to our luxurious private game lodge located in the world famous Kruger National Park. Arrive in time to freshen up and enjoy a welcome drink in the African Bush before departing on your first safari in open 4x4 vehicles.

Day 5

Kruger National Park

Up at dawn for your early morning game drive! Of course, the less energetic are welcome to sleep late! Search out a multitude of animals including lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard and cheetah, together with a wealth of antelope and birds interacting in their natural environment.

Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, relax or talk with your ranger and mingle with the guests. Your afternoon game drive takes you well into the evening. Return to your lodge for another sumptuous dinner.

Day 8

Board Rovos Rail's Pride of Africa

Following breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the rail station.

The Pride of Africa departs from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria and travels in a northerly direction towards the border at Beitbridge. Guests may freshen up in their suites before joining fellow travellers in the midway lounge car or observation car at the rear of the train.
Lunch is served in the dining cars as the train traverses Warmbaths, so named for its mineral waters, and Nylstroom, christened by the Voortrekkers as the source of the Nile River as the town's river happened to be north flowing. The train passes the edge of the escarpment where the Highveld drops precipitously.

Tea in the midway lounge car or observation car at the rear of the train.

Dinner is served in the dining cars as the train crosses the Tropic of Capricorn en route to Messina and the border with Zimbabwe.

These beautifully restored trains consist of up to 20 coaches that can be drawn by steam, diesel or electric locomotives operating at various stages of the journey. The sleeping cars as well as the observation and dining cars have been splendidly refurbished in the style of the period but with an eye for modern comfort. The train carries a maximum of 72 passengers who are attended by highly motivated members of staff, and provides a cuisine of superb standard. Rovos Rail offers unique rail safaris through some of the most spectacular scenery in Africa.

Day 9

Day on the Rails

Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 10h00. The train departs Beitbridge and travels on the BBR railway line via Rutenga and Somabhula.

Lunch is served in the dining cars en route to Bulawayo: second city of Zimbabwe, capital of Matabeleland and industrial capital of the country. Tea in the midway lounge car or observation car at the rear of the train.

Dinner is served in the dining cars. Overnight Mpopoma.

Day on the Rails

Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 10h00 as the train departs Mpopoma.

Lunch is served in the dining cars. The train travels between Gwaai and Dete along one of the world's longest stretches of straight railway line - 114 kilometres - and along the eastern edge of Hwange Park.

Disembark at Kennedy Siding for a game drive at The Hide in Hwange National Park.

Dinner is served in the dining cars.

Overnight on the train at Thompsons Junction.

Arrive at the Victoria Falls

Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 09h30 as th train departs for Victoria Falls.

Arrive at journey’s end at the incomperable Victoria Falls. You will be met and transferred to your accommodation. The reaminder of the day is at your leisure to relax and enjoy your included activities.
