Jordan and Israel Encompassed: Tel Aviv, Jerusalem & Petra

Duration
12 Days
Prices From:
US$ 3,999

FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: Explore the Holy Land on this comprehensive tour of Jordan and Israel. In Jordan, see the Red Rose City of Petra and the haunting desert of Wadi Rum before you connect to Israel to tour the religious sites of Jerusalem and float in the Dead Sea.

This 12-day Middle East vacation takes you to historic landmarks and iconic cities throughout Jordan and Israel, including Amman, Jerash, Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv. It features first-class accommodations and a mix of private and small-group tours.

Your trip to Jordan begins in Amman, the national capital, where you’ll spend the night before you explore the ancient Graeco-Roman city of Jerash the next day. Tour the city’s well-preserved ruins before you connect to Aljun Castle to see arguably the best-preserved of the Muslim castles to withstand Crusader armies in the 12th century. Connect back to Amman for another night and tour the citadel and Roman amphitheatre before you go on a walking tour of local markets and craft shops.

Continue your Jordan vacation by heading south to Petra, the Red Rose City of Jordan and one of the greatest wonders of the world. The first sight of the Treasury peeking out from the cliff after winding through the Siq will leave you breathless. You’ll explore the large historic site before driving to the resort town of Aqaba for a brief tour of its key landmarks. Spend the night at a beachside resort and enjoy the waters of the Red Sea before you head north. Pass through Wadi Rum, the stunning red sand valley that’s a famous filming location for movies such as Dune and Lawrence of Arabia. After a jeep safari through the desert, you’ll continue to the Dead Sea, where you’ll have the rest of the day at your resort to float in the mineral-rich waters and recharge with some wellness treatments.

Connect back to Amman and fly onto Tel Aviv to start your Israel vacation. Transfer to Jerusalem and spend a full day exploring one of the world’s holiest cities. You’ll see King David’s tomb on the Mount of Olives, visit the room where Jesus held the Last Supper with his Disciples, and walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built on the site of Jesus’ empty tomb. Continue to Bethlehem to see the Church of the Nativity and the nearby shepherds’ field.

Spend a day touring the countryside outside Jerusalem. You’ll visit the Dead Sea from the Israeli side and tour the Masada, the mountain fortress that was the last stronghold of the Jews during their first-century revolt against the Romans. After a final night in Jerusalem, connect onwards to Tel Aviv. Tour nearby Galilee, seeing the port city of Haifa, the ancient Roman capital of Caesarea, and the UNESCO-listed Old City of Acre. Your final full day in Jerusalem is at leisure to enjoy Tel Aviv, the trendy bubble of Israel, which is famous for its electric nightclubs and gorgeous beaches.

At the end of your trip to Jordan and Israel, you’ll connect to the airport in Tel Aviv for onward travels.
