Duration
8 Days
Prices From:

DELUXE | CRUISE: Enjoy a leisurely 7-night cruise on a luxury cruise ship along the beautiful and historic Nile River discovering amazing ancient archaeological sites in Luxor, Kom Ombo and Aswan. Also visit the architectural wonder, the Aswan High Dam, a major engineering feat.

Beginning in Luxor, a city that has often been called the World's greatest open air museum, you join your floating hotel for a 7 night cruise. Visit here the Karnak Temple on the east bank of the Nile. It is a city of temples built over 2000 years ago. This is followed by a visit to the Luxor Museum.  Overnight in Luxor.

The next morning, head to the west bank and visit the Necropolis of Thebes, Valley of the Kings, the Colossos of Memnon, and the Temple of Madinat Habu. Later, travel by road to the Temple of Dendara dedicated to Hathor, Goddess of Music, Love and Joy. Return to Luxor.

The next day, visit the West Bank again and see the Valley of the Noble's tombs and Dier El Madina, the site of a very special workman's village whose craftsmen built and decorated the tombs of the Pharaohs.  Lastly visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. In the afternoon, visit the Luxor Temple, a holy city of pylons, hypostyle halls, colossal statues and obelisks built over many centuries. Overnight in Luxor.

Next sail to Edfu via the Esna Lock. Edfu is a small town and an important centre for sugar production and pottery making. It is the site where the god Horus was worshipped and where the battle between Horus and his traditional enemy, Seth, in ancient mythology, took place. Visit here the Ptolomaic Temple of Horus. The temple is perhaps the best-preserved in all of Egypt and ranks second behind Karnak, simply because of its immense size. Overnight in Edfu.

Continue to Aswan, Egypt's sunniest southern city and ancient frontier town has a distinctively African atmosphere. You can stroll up and down the broad Corniche watching the sailboats with their tall masts or sit in floating restaurants listening to Nubian music and eating freshly caught fish. Today you will visit Aswan's High Dam, a huge rock filled dam which captures the world's longest river, the Nile, in the world's largest artificial reservoir. Also visit the Temple of Philae, a temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. Overnight in Aswan.

Sail back down the Nile to Kom Ombo, located on a bend in the river on the east bank. It is home to an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. The temple is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris. The temple is a beautiful sight as you approach from either direction on the river. Later return to Aswan and visit the Botanical Gardens and later, experience a sound and light show at the Temple of Philae. Overnight in Aswan.

The following day is free with the option of a tour to Abu Simbel with its Great Temple of Ramses II, constructed between 1274-1244 BC and considered one of the most beautiful in all of Egypt. Overnight in Aswan.

The next day, your Nile cruise comes to an end.
