Day 2

Full Day Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven including Lunch

Pick up from hotel, walk through the Tian’an Men Square and head to the gate of the Forbidden City, the abiding symbol of imperial China. Truly one of the great achievements of civilization, its construction employed hundreds of thousands of workers between 1406 and 1420. Marvel at its expansive architecture, magnificent imperial gardens, and many museums of Chinese antiquities and treasures. Head to the Summer Palace, which is the best-kept existing royal garden in Beijing, a complex of pavilions, temples, and galleries set among beautifully landscaped grounds, situated on Kunming Lake. After a Chinese lunch at local restaurant, explore the Temple of Heaven, one of the finest creations of the Ming dynasty. This stunning architecture realizes the eternal Chinese desire to incarnate heaven in material form and represents the most advanced principles of mechanics and geometry of the time. Late afternoon, transfer back to hotel.

Half Day Great Wall at Badaling including Lunch

Pick up from hotel, start the day to walk the historic Great Wall at Badaling, the most representative part, was promoted as a key national cultural relic. After a Chinese lunch at local restaurant, transfer back to hotel.

ACCOMMODATION:

Rooms and Suites surround serene garden courtyards crisscrossed by stately pathways. Established indigenous trees cast delicate shadows through bamboo blinds and into the lofty-ceilinged Suites. Polished to a deep lustre, floors are finished in Jin clay tiles, while ceilings show exposed wooden roof beams. Bathrooms are generously proportioned with free-standing island bathtubs.

Dining venues include The Chinese Restaurant, The Grill, The Reflection Pavilion, Nama (Japanese) and The Lounge.

Cultural Pavilion

The property features a beautiful cultural pavilion where local experts demonstrate Chinese arts for in-house guests.

Spa

Spread across two subterranean levels, the Aman Spa is a sanctuary for body and mind. In the nine double treatment rooms, therapies that draw on Imperial traditions and Traditional Chinese Medicine range from gemstone massages and scrubs to moxibustion, reflexology and acupuncture. Separate male and female changing areas incorporate steam and sauna rooms, Jacuzzis and cold plunge pools.
