This 4-day Japanese vacation takes you to Sapporo on the island of Hokkaido to delve into Japan’s beer culture. It features first-class accommodations, private tours, and is a great add-on to a longer Japanese tour.
Your journey centres on Sapporo, the main city on the northern island of Hokkaido. Known for its snowy winters and beautiful forests, Hokkaido has long been one of Japan’s favourite natural getaways. It’s also the country’s centre for beer. You’ll spend a few nights based in Sapporo exploring Japan’s brewing legacy. A full day tour will take you to the Asahi Beer Factory to examine the production process and taste some fresh samples, then to the Sapporo Beer Museum to trace the island’s long history of beer production and the legacy of Sapporo, one of the country’s oldest brands, and finally to the Genghis Khan Beer Garden to wind down with a pint.
The rest of your time is at leisure to explore Sapporo and the surrounding areas. Visit the Olympic grounds just outside of the city or learn about the Indigenous Ainu people that settled the island over 15,000 years ago.
At the end of your stay, head to the airport to continue to your next destination.

Private Full Day Sapporo Beer Tour
Hokkaido is the birthplace of beer in Japan and Sapporo is known for producing the best beer in the country. There are 4 major beer companies dominating the market and you will have the chance to visit 2 of them today. Your first stop is the Asahi Beer Factory. You will walk through the entire beer production process and at the end of the tour, have 3 glasses of freshly-brewed beer to warm up your stomach. The next stop, Sapporo Beer Museum, opened in 1987 and it explores the history of beer in Japan. Sapporo is one of the oldest beer brands and has been brewing since 1877. You will have a chance to join the premium tour which entitles you to watch an exclusive video. Then it's time for more beer! Exclusive to this tour is the sampling of the flagship Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label and Fukkoku Sapporo--Sei Beer (brewed strictly by following the original recipe from the 1900s). Then, you will end the day at the Beer Garden, sampling Hokkaido's iconic dish Genghis Khan (locally pronounced Jingisukan). No one knows why this was named after the famous Mongolian emperor but one theory is that the metal skillet used for grilling the mutton and vegetables resembles a traditional Mongolian soldier's helmet. Here you will enjoy an all-you-can eat-and-drink meal plan for 2 hours before calling it a day and heading back to your hotel.
