Your trip to South America begins in Santiago, where you’ll stay a night before connecting to Calama Airport and transferring to explora Atacama in the heart of the San Pedro de Atacama. Set on 17ha of land that form an oasis in the middle of the desert, explora Atacama is a stunning hotel with a modern design that blends into the natural environment. This all-inclusive property puts you within easy reach of the desert and the Andean highlands, and lets you plan your own itinerary along 40 exploration routes over sand dunes, around salt pans, and beside volcanoes. Back at the hotel, you’ll experience modern rooms that are all about privacy and disconnecting from the stress of the outside world. Relax in the spa, enjoy BBQ at the outdoor Quincho, and head to the observatory to survey the night sky on a cloudless night. You’ll have two full days in the Atacama Desert to explore the wild. Connect back to Calama and fly back to Santiago. From Santiago, connect to Cusco and venture into the Sacred Valley of the Incas and explora Sacred Valley. Accommodations are all inclusive and the on-site guides and experts will ensure you have full access to the many wonders of the Sacred Valley. At the end of each day of adventure, return to the lodge to feast on delicious gourmet meals and relax in the bath house. Then retire to your room to rest and be refreshed without any intrusion from the outside world.
You’ll have a full day of leisure in the Sacred Valley. You can visit the Andean markets of Chinchero or venture to Ollantaytambo to explore the ruins of the Incan fortress that lie on the mountainside. Another day, you’ll head on a guided tour of two key sites in the Sacred Valley: the agricultural terraces of Moray and the salt pans of Maras. Marvel at the perfect concentric terraces of Moray and learn about the advanced agricultural methods of the Incas. At Maras, walk along the salt pans where Andean villagers gather salt right on the edge of the mountain and be amazed at the stark whiteness of these ancient terraces.
At the end of your stay in the Sacred Valley, you’ll connect back to Cusco to continue your onward journey. We strongly suggest you add on a few days to see Machu Picchu, the Incas’ grandest achievement and the most popular attraction in South America.

Visit the Incan agricultural experimental center of Moray, famous for its sunken amphitheater, made up of four circular terraces, which appear to fade away into the earth like an artificial crater. Then visit the impressive Maras salt pools formed by water emerging from a lake inside the mountain in the Urubamba Valley. An amazing view is offered of the evaporating ponds used for the extraction of salt. Learn about ancestral techniques, which are still used, in agricultural, irrigation and salt-recollection tasks, as well as in Andean festivals and rites.
