explora's Hotel Salto Chico can be found on the shore of Lago Peho, facing a breathtaking panoramic view of Macizo del Paine. Conceived as a base for explorations, the Hotel Salto Chico features every amenity for guests to really relax, and the equipment necessary to head out and explore Patagonia.
Patagonia is a vast region in the southernmost tip of South America. Civilizations with magical rites, sailors and pioneers have contributed to its fame. It is a mythical place, synonymous with exploration.
Located in the heart of Patagonia, 400 kms (249 miles) north of Punta Arenas, Torres del Paine National Park encompasses 242 hectares (598,000 acres). At 51°07' south latitude and 73°10' west longitude, the park is surrounded by the impressive Paine mountain range (Cordillera del Paine). With unusually-shaped granite peaks, glaciers, lakes and waterfalls, plus unique flora and fauna, Torres del Paine Park is considered one of the most beautiful places on Planet Earth. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1978.
The hotel has a television salon, telephones, fax, and radio contact within the park. There is also laundry service, a restaurant, bar and shop. An annex, Casa de Baos del Ona, located near the hotel, houses a heated indoor lap pool, four outdoor Jacuzzis, sauna and massage salons.
Our Explore Torres del Paine has no set itinerary - only a set number of days - 2 to 6.
Within that time the following activities are available as part of your trip price.
On day 1 you will be met at Punta Arenas Airport and transferred to your hotel.
Each day you can choose from 5 to 10 different options, selected according to the weather conditions and guests desire. Hiking, horseback riding, in a van or by motorboat; in groups no larger than 10 guests accompanied by a bilingual guide, explorations allow an in-depth contact with the wonders of Torres del Paine National Park, year round.
The journey begins in Punta Arenas, Chile, which is reached via flights from Santiago. The flights to and from Punta Arenas IS NOT INCLUDED in the trip price.
Take an international flight to Santiago, Chile (SCL) followed by a 4 hour flight from SCL to Punta Arenas (PUQ). Once in PUQ, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel within Torres del Paine National Park. The transfer is approximately 5 hrs.
2 hrs, 30 min (250 km/ 155 miles) on a paved road from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales, where we stop for a quick snack, followed by 2 hrs, 30 min (150 km/ 93 miles) on a dirt road from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine NP.
