Wonders of Brazil and Peru

Duration
12 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,979

FIRST-CLASS | SMALL GROUP: Combining the ancient sites of Cusco and Machu Picchu with thunderous Iguassu Falls, this Peru and Brazil vacation puts you in touch with the regions traditions and most spectacular wonders.

Pair two of South America’s most memorable and dynamic countries on this 12-day trip from Rio de Janeiro to Cusco.

Take in “the marvelous city” of Rio from its two most famous vantage points, the Corcovado, home of Christ the Redeemer, and Sugarloaf Mountain, where you get a fantastic view back over the city and its beaches. With your day at leisure, enjoy some time on Ipanema or Copacabana Beach, take a walking tour of historic downtown Rio, explore the revitalized waterfront district, or the trendy galleries of Santa Theresa, or get back to nature with a day in Tijuca National Park.

Hear that rush of water? It’s the largest waterfall system on earth, and your next destination. Set at the meeting place between Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina, Iguassu Falls wows you with its panorama of hundreds of cascades. It reaches its full might at the Devil’s Throat. See it up close from above on the Argentinean side, and keep your eyes peeled for rainforest wildlife in the area too.

Fly to Lima for a taste of rapidly changing modern Peru… quiet literally. This is one of the most surprising foodie cities on earth, so enjoy an innovative dinner after your tour of the city, including the famous Larco Museum. After two nights in Lima, transfer to Cusco, where Inca culture lives on today. Settle into this stunning city in the Andes, then explore the Sacred Valley, seeing the sacred sites and technical innovations the Inca left behind. Visit the Misminay people for a warm traditional welcome. Then it’s on to Machu Picchu!

The ancient citadel of the Incas raises more questions than it answers each year. What’s not in dispute is its charismatic mystique and stunning location, high in the Andes. Entry is controlled to keep visitor numbers sustainable, ensuring the best experience with your knowledgeable guide. Return to Cusco and enjoy one day at leisure in this beautiful city before you depart.
