West Midlands Vacations, Tours & Travel Packages

  • Birmingham is the second-largest city in the United Kingdom
  • The 14th-century Gothic Coventry Cathedral was largely destroyed by a bombing during the Second World War
  • Birmingham City Council House was designed by Yeoville Thomason

Long underrated as ‘the industrial city’ far from the bright lights of London, the pretty facades of Bath, or the trendy rhythms of Manchester, Birmingham has entered the new decade refreshed and re-energized. The new 'Brum' is more than just the product of a pre-games glow-up. It’s the culmination of years of expanding diversity and a growing cultural appetite that’s allowed a top-notch creative scene to flourish, unbattered by the gentrification that’s choked some of its rivals.

It's also a great gateway to the beautiful West Midlands! A pass along the Meriden Gap leads to Coventry, a history-filled city where one can visit Coventry Cathedral. Learn about its origins, its partial destruction during World War II, and its immediate restoration. Perhaps visit the Coventry Transport Museum to see some of England's most impressive automobiles. Of course, a leisurely stroll down the streets that Lady Godiva once rode is also fun all on its own! While Coventry lies to the east of Birmingham, the west is all about Wolverhampton. A scenic market town with plenty of pretty spots to stop and have a meal or light snack.

The boroughs of Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, and Walsall each add their own distinct flavour to the West Midlands. For motor enthusiasts, a Land Rover Factory Tour in Solihull is a must-do. Guests interested in both local and industrial history should be sure to stop by Dudley and visit the Black Country Living Museum. Not far away is Stratford-Upon-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare and to this day one of England’s prettiest towns. Avid hikers might want to head into the Shropshire Hills, or if you prefer to keep your scenic walks within reach of a cozy café, Birmingham’s canal district is happy to oblige.

Whether with a private guide, a rental vehicle, or a bicycle, the boroughs of the West Midlands are a joy to explore.
