Cruise Under the Northern Lights: Exploring Iceland, Greenland & Norway

Duration
15 Days
Prices:
On request

DELUXE | CRUISE: This two week cruise through the Arctic region takes you to see the austere and breathtaking beauty of a little known world full of natural wonders. Fjords, glaciers, ancient settlements, on board lectures – all these add to the incredible allure of the Arctic.

See the sidebar on the left, for full ship information.

Start your Arctic exploration with a day in Reykjavik, enjoying just enough time for a taste of Iceland's capital before you embark. Then set out for Eastern Greenland, across the Denmark Strait. While on board, you will have the opportunity to attend presentations on the history of Greenland and to learn more about its local wildlife.

You will explore the remote East Greenland coast including taking Zodiac cruises for shore visits. You will visit ancient Thule settlements, forefathers of the modern Inuit. It is here that 40% of the world’s musk oxen exist. If conditions permit, you might visit Ittoqqortoormiit, East Greenland's most remote commnity. In any case, you'll have the chance to enjoy what each new day brings in one of the few corners of the world that feel genuinely untouched.

Sail on to Spitsbergen, across the Greenland Sea. Sail around this unique island to see the abundant wildlife and to take in the austere beauty of the region. You will see glacier fronts and steep walled fjords as well as walrus, polar bears, Spitsbergen reindeer, and much birdlife. Disembark in Longyearbyen for your flight to Oslo.
