MODERATE | TAILOR-MADE: An interactive family adventure exploring New Zealand and Australia . Explore glow worm caves, a visit to Hobbiton, learn about Maori culture in Rotorua, experience the thrill of jet boating and ziplining in Queenstown before rounding out the journey in Sydney.

This 11-day family adventure takes in the best of New Zealand before rounding out the journey in Sydney.

Start in Auckland, one of the world’s most liveable cities, and enjoy a tour of the highlights, including Ponsonby Village and the city’s harbours, Waitemata and the Viaduct. Visit Mission Bay, then go on to Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World, to meet New Zealand’s only Arctic penguin colony. A sailing trip on Waitemata Harbour rounds out your afternoon, followed by free entry into the Maritime Museum.

Just outside Auckland, Waitomo Caves are famous for their large population of glow worms, as well as some of New Zealand’s most impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. After that, it’s time to meet the Hobbits of Middle Earth… or visit their former homes at least! – At Hobbiton, beautiful farmland has been transformed into Tolkein’s magical land. You’ll enjoy a movie set tour to see how it was all done.

Explore Rotorua, New Zealand’s famed geothermal laboratory, where you can discover bubbling mud pools and spouting geysers. This is also home to the Agrodome, an interactive attraction that invites you to experience a taste of New Zealand farm life, and Tamaki Maori Village. After a traditional welcome here, learn about the traditional ways of the Maori then enjoy a Hangi ceremonial feast for dinner.

Fly to Queenstown, and hop a jet boat to explore the Dart River. Switch to a quieter canoe and explore one of the most spectacular wilderness areas on earth, with a buffet lunch amid ancient beech forests. On your second day, take the Skyline gondola for a bird’s eye view of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu, then make your descent via zip line, combining the best of local sightseeing with the kind of adrenaline pumping adventure that put this town on the map. Tandem tours ensure an experience that’s great for kids as well.

Across the Tasman Sea, Sydney gives you just a taste of Australia before flying home. What that taste includes is up to you, with a Sydney Attraction Pass at your disposal. This includes entry to over 35 Sydney attractions including Sydney Tower, Ocean World Manly, Sydney Wildlife World and more. Just don’t overlook the city’s simpler (ie: free!) pleasures, like its spectacular beaches and the Botanical Gardens. However you choose to spend your time, Australia’s harbour city is sure to enchant the whole family.

Tu Te Ra is a time of year when the sun expresses its optimal energy. It is when days are longest and when the energy of the light nourishes the natural world. Your experience is filled with drama, performance and divine seasonal kai (cuisine) shared against a backdrop of blazing bonfires, towering Tawa trees and a natural forest amphitheater. Tonight's menu has been designed by award-winning Maori chefs and includes staple favorites, such as crispy pork, caramelized apple wrapped in kawakawa, paua, pikopiko fronds, smoked eel and charred hangi kumara, which are followed by a four-course hakari (feast).

Served al fresco on warmer nights and indoors on cooler nights, the space is eclectically designed to make you wonder if you have journeyed back to the times of trade and warfare and to make you feel the depth and generosity of hakari.
